Background and History

Shariatpur Government Technical School and College is a well-known and universally recognized educational institution in the technical education sector of Bangladesh in the Shariatpur district. The institution is under the Technical and Madrasa Education Department of the Ministry of Education. In this era of globalization, various challenges are constantly coming. Therefore, the institution was established in 1998 in an enjoyable environment adjacent to Angaria Bazar in Shariatpur Sadar to develop smart citizens with technical and technical knowledge and enlightened people with hand and pen skills in addition to providing timely teaching and training to students.

The institute is managed by faculty members with expertise in their respective departments/subjects. Every year the institution is creating study and employment opportunities in the outside world beyond its own country. There are well-equipped computer labs, workshops, CCTV-controlled smart boards, classrooms with state-of-the-art facilities like projectors and adequate equipment for hands-on training. Skill development programs and industrial training are arranged for the soft skill development of the students.


Courses Conducted:


1) Pre-vocational: 6th, 7th, 8th standard.


2) SSC (Vocational) program (Class IX & X) has 4 sections.


1. General Electrical Works,

2. General Electronics,

3. IT Support and IoT Basics and

4. Fish Culture and Breeding.


3) HSC (Vocational) program (Class XI & XII) has 4 sections.


1. Computer Operation and Maintenance,

2. Electrical Works and Maintenance,

3. Electronic Control and Communication,

4. Fish Culture and Breeding.


4) Two skill development programs are running in the institution.


(a) Under SAP Project: Motor Driving Course (6 months duration)


(b) Courses of 4 months duration under ASSET Project:

  • Computer Operation (NTVQF Level-3)
  • Electrical Installation and Maintenance (NTVQF Level-2)
  • Graphics Design (NTVQF Level-2)
  • Mobile Phone Servicing (NTVQF Level-2)
  • Driving (NTVQF Level-2)
